The first Pop Up festival of stories kicks off this weekend in London. The Guardian are supporting the event, and yesterday published this article about it. We've seen a three fold increase in traffic since!

Olympic posters

I saw this gallery of olympic posters on the Guardian, and it struck me that the designs from about 1960 - 1988 were mostly assembled by hand, but have no immediate clues to that effect (at least from a general point of view); lots of strong flat shapes, great bold designs.

Conversly, from 1992 - 2008 which it's fairly safe to say are digitally assembled, all of the designs have hand drawn elements.

This made me wonder whether that trend will continue in the coming 2012 games. Should we expect another 'hand drawn' solution? Among the artists in the running for the designs is Bridget Riley - I really hope she wins and draws a line underneath the 'hand drawn but not hand drawn' trend.
